May I tell you a little bit about me?

I was born and raised in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1982. I have worked in the corporate world for more than 25 years in administrative positions, and decided in 2009 to start my own business. After graduation from AssistUniversity’s Virtual Training Program, I opened my virtual doors almost two years ago.

I work from my home office, supporting entrepreneurs and solopreneurs by taking over the tasks that they do not wish to do, or cannot do. What makes me love my work is the fact that I enter into long-term and collaborative working relationships. Over time, I become my clients’ trusted partner and business confidante, someone with whom they can brainstorm, and who, over time, knows their business as much as they do. The basis of my working relationships is always the connection between my client and me, which is essential for trust to build.

In addition to being a Virtual Assistant, I enjoy working from e-Spot, my office away, and where I do most of my in-person networking. I love exploring new tools, and am the co-leader of AssistUs Efficiency Tools Special Interest Group. The SIG holds monthly calls in a conference call or webinar setting with select speakers, who are mostly members of our community. These calls provide all attendees with the opportunity to learn of, and to explore new tools or practices.
 
For the past two years, I have also been an active member of a local Toastmasters group. Attending the group’s meetings is teaching me public speaking and leadership skills, skills that I have an urge to learn to do better. I even combined my public speaking with a twenty-week long writing course offered by WriteWellU, which took away my inhibitions about my writing skills.
 
You see, I love people, and interacting with them. Is there a better reason to love what I do than the close and trusting interaction with my clients?
